Chondroitin sulphate for horses is useful not only for helping the health of cartilage in the body but also for maintaining healthy horse skin and providing excellent nutritional support where rubbing of horse manes and tails is seen.

Chondroitin sulphate is a glycosaminoglycan (GAG) – also known as a mucopolysaccharide – a type of compound that binds to collagen and elastin in the formation of cartilage.

Chondroitin sulphate is a biological polymer derived from connective tissue and supports cartilage production. It is very effective at sustaining the joint and vertebrae health of older horses where nutritional support is needed for normal cartilage health.

Chondroitin is present in the lining of the horse digestive tract, blood vessels, mucus membranes and arteries and helps promote normal blood flow throughout the body.

The nutritional benefits of chondroitin sulphate are complimented when used in conjunction with spirulina to nutritionally support healthy skin and help maintain normal immune system response to challenges from fly and midge bites.

Suggested supplement amount for:

Sweet Itch 2500mg to 5000mg per 225kg of body weight twice per day

Joint support 2500mg to 3000mg per 225kg of body weight twice per day

If feeding for an average 450kg horse at the lower rate of 10 grams per day for sweet itch and/or joint support this product should last you 50 days (when feeding 5 grams in the morning and 5 grams in the evening feed).

If feeding for an average 450kg horse at the higher rate of 20 grams per day for sweet itch this product should last you 25 days (when feeding 10 grams in the morning and 10 grams in the evening feed).

If feeding for an average 450kg horse at the higher rate of 12 grams per day for joint support this product should last you 41.6 days (when feeding 6 grams in the morning and 6 grams in the evening feed).

A 1ml scoop is equivalent to 1500 mg (1.5 gram) of Chondroitin Sulphate.

A 2.5ml scoop is equivalent to 2500 mg (2.5 gram) of Chondroitin Sulphate.
